VTK is a problematic package, I'm not sure if it's a good idea to have
opencv depend on it.

If I were the ffmpeg maintainer I would consider dropping this
dependency to keep gdal & vtk out of the dependency chain.

While frustration is not good, having the gdal issues affect more people
may result in others contributing fixes. Like many others the GIS team
is understaffed, we don't have the manpower to deal with issues on the
ports.

It would be great if I could dedicate all my time to maintaining the GIS
packages, then I could take issues on ports more seriously. But I'm not
in that position.

So unfortunately you can't expect any changes from me for this issue.
I'm waiting for librt-topology to replace liblwgeom which should greatly
help, all I can do is ask you to be patient as well.

Kind Regards,

Bas
