libhdf4 FTBFS in unstable:

 checking for xdr library support... checking for rpc/rpc.h... no
 checking for rpc/rpc.h... (cached) no
 configure: error: couldn't find rpc headers

Patching configure.ac to test TIRPC first helps, but linking later fails:

 /usr/bin/ld: ../../mfhdf/libsrc/.libs/libmfhdfalt.so: undefined reference to `xdr_double'
