The issue cannot be reproduced with the boost1.88 packages from experimental because the build dependencies are not installable.

  The following packages have unmet dependencies:
   libboost1.88-dev : Conflicts: libboost1.83-dev but 1.83.0-4.2 is to be installed

We likely need boost-defaults updated for 1.88 in experimental to resolve that.
