** New study – Enhanced Diagnostic Accuracy via Combined ABI and PVR Metrics
------------------------------------------------------------

A multicentre study published in Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine demonstrates that combining the traditional ankle-brachial index (ABI) with pulse volume recording (PVR)-derived parameters improves detection of peripheral artery disease (PAD) significantly.

Key findings include:
* The combined ABI + PVR approach achieved an AUC of 0.92, which is higher than the result of ABI alone (0.89).
* The study confirms that PVR metrics, such as upstroke time and %MAP, add important diagnostic value, especially when ABI results are borderline or misleading.

This research underlines the importance of multiparametric vascular assessment in improving early diagnosis of peripheral artery disease (PAD). Combining ABI and PVR helps identify patients with hidden vascular disease and supports better treatment decisions.
