The autopkgtest for your MR fails:

  Unrecognized option: --sun-misc-unsafe-memory-access=allow

This suggests the option needs be conditional to Java >= 24.

The option seems to have been introduced in JDK 23 per JEP 498 [0], when it defaulted to allow.
