This is already fixed in git where it's using GitHub tags:

  Newest version of jsonpath-ng on remote site is 1.8.0, local version is 1.7.0
   => Newer package available from:
          => https://github.com/h2non/jsonpath-ng/archive/refs/tags/v1.8.0.tar.gz
