The variable was configured in ci_cd settings, put the pipeline generated an invalid list file:

  E: Malformed line 1 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sbuild-extra-repositories.list (type)
  E: The list of sources could not be read.
  E: apt-get update failed

The pipeline README still documents what we had there, but also documented the ability to configure the sources in .gitlab-ci.yml, that's preferable over variables in two places.
