I would suggest having a separate package (e.g, grub-splashimages) for
providing a collection of images in it.

Adding a single image to grub increases notably the package size, and this
is probably not what most users want.

Luis, would you like to prepare such a package will all your images? Once it
is in the archive, we can get grub to Recommend/Suggest it.

Unless we find a way to activate this feature without risking to break the
installed bootloader, I think making image-less the default is the safest.
