I would prefer if the image was fixed.  However, I had a look and removing
the logo is far from trivial [1].  How would you feel about drawing a red
Debian swirl on top of the logo?  Perhaps the blue/red contrast looks nice.

OTOH, a Debian swirl on top of the Gentoo logo has a more pollitical meaning
we might (or we might not) want to avoid.  I don't object to doing that, but
it's worth pointing it out before.

[1]  It could be argued that the "preferred form of modification" as referred
to by the GPL would be an image in object-oriented format so that the logo
could be put away.  This is a gray area, though, and I prefer to stay away
from it for now.
