I've made the grub-splashimages package I promised. Uses CDBS and all
files are GPL-clean. For the next release I plan on adding a bunch more
of images and perhaps a debconf prompt asking which one you'd like to
use as slashimage (it'll do for you automagically). This a native debian
package as the source was made for debian. I tested the package.
