Bug#111315: grub-install fails on with a Compaq/HP Smartarray (cciss)

using the d-i, it fails to install grub. grub-install complains with
  "/dev/cciss/c0d0p1 does not have any corresponding bios drive"

changing to the second console and doing
 echo '(hd0) /dev/cciss/c0d0' >> /target/boot/grub/device.map

And then try to reinstall grub solves it.
