Agreed, although hey RH/fedora does it for eyecandy and people don't compla=
in.

Sure thing. I'd love to.

Hmm, well RH/Fedora/SuSe seem to use the same patch and they're fine. I
don't see why we shouldn't. Of course, if we do integrate an image and
then run into problems -- then its our bug eeh? :)
Anyway -- I've replied to all the folks who e-mailed me splashimages
asking them to resend them with a license *cough GPL*. In addition,
I've added this section on my splashimage howto on information regarding
people wanting to submit a splashimage to me:
-----------
Include a License that will allow me to redistribute it. I like the GPL
;). Fortuntely the xpm file format accept C99 comments, so you can just
edit the file with your favorite editor (vim, emacs) and add some text
like the following:
/*=20
* Copyright 2004 Your Name
*=20
* This xpm file image is free software; you can redistribute it and/or
* modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as

------------
I hope this suffices for our purposes, if not please advise.
Oh yeah -- regarding integrating the graphics patch into grub 0.9x -- I
don't think it'll happen, unless that's the final answer I got from
Okuji when I poked him about it before while advocating splashimage
support. He said he'd start work for graphic support until 2.0 (PUPA).
