Package: grub
Version: 0.95+cvs20040624-10
Severity: wishlist

If I install grub on a partition, not the MBR, and I fail to mark
the partition bootable, I effectively get an unbootable system.
Maybe grub could check the bootable flag on the applicable
archictectures and warn, or offer to handle it? Lilo does the
latter...

This came up during an installation with d-i. Partman's automatic
partitioning marks / (or /boot) as bootable, but if I manually
install, I am left to my own devices. Sure, you can argue this to
and fro (which is why this is just a wishlist...).
