Hi,
I could go on and on about the button naming conventions because there
is something deeper I am going for here. For now it will stay as it is,
but like I said before I will not ignore requests. But it is going to
take a lot for me to change my mind about it. I'm not stubborn, I just
have a vision. :)
The thing about making an empty menu.lst~ ... now, that is a bug. I will
be looking into that.
About the inconsistencies in the manual and man page ... That is another
bug. I just didn't update the man page :-P
The bug I am most concerned about though is how it gave all your OSes a
root of (hd0,0). I think what I need to do is check for a device.map
file (my system, Gentoo, doesn't have one) and use that for the device
mapping, or fallback to (hd0) == /dev/hda, (hd1) == /dev/hdb, etc.
Here is a revised bug list:
1. Empty menu.lst~
2. Man page out of date
3. Ignores device.map
>Hope this helps to reproduce what happened... Again I'm also not going
>to use this software but I wanted to point this out so nobody else
>gets hurt using this software ;)
This does help. When I get a chance I will look into the bugs. Thank you
for pointing them out. If there is one thing that I want to be sure of
it is that grubconf doesn't make anyones system unbootable.
Thanks!
- Joe
