Hello

I am using debian sarge, installed in Feb. I am trying to create a boot
floppy with a menu like when my hard disc boots. Is this possible?

/usr/share/doc/grub/README.Debian.gz  reveals:

===================
4) thats it, making sure you have a rescue disk or some other way to boot
    your machine attempt to reboot using grub!

    to create a grub boot floppy:

    cat /boot/grub/stage1 /boot/grub/stage2 > /dev/fd0
========================

I did this, but now I just have a grub prompt, not yet a menu. I
noticed grub-disk, which seems to contain grub-floppy command, that too
creates a disk without a menu. I typed "help" but there were no commands
which appeared able to use my existing boot menu.lst file.

Have I missed something? Is it possible? pointers to FAQs or specific ways
I can get the boot menu on a floppy appreciated.

Kind regards
JG
