Bug#440232: grub-splashimages: menu-sta.xpm.gz fails to load

menu-sta.xmp.gz cannot be used as splashimage. GRUB complains with a
message like the following (sorry, going by memory):

Failed to load splashimage ((hd0,0)/grub/splashimages/menu-sta.xpm.gz)

Could it be related to the fact that picture size is 636x480?
