Bug in grub-0.97-21 in savedefault implementation

I do not know (yet) how to officially report bugs or discuss potential 
solutions. Recently I have posted a set of comments, problem 
descriptions, and patches to:

There haven't been any responses to this but I noticed that a new 
version (grub-0.97-22) was just released and the changelog doesn't 
mention anything in the area I was working on. Essentially the bug is 
still there in this version. Not a big deal, I'm not complaining, 
however, I'd like to know whether I need to do something in addition to 
posting to that list such that the fix probably makes it into the next 
release.

Pls advice.
