same results

Hardware:
IBM Intellistation M Pro 6850-n5u
I initially attempted install with 2x18GB U160 SCSI and 2x40GB EIDE.
Grub seemed to want to install to hd0 though I was configuring /boot on
sd0. The result of this was that I was getting invalid boot disk errors
or no OS installed.
I switched to hd0 as /boot and upon booting started getting GRUB
GRUB..... As the original report mentioned.
Finally attempted install after removing SCSI from equation and
installed solely on IDE. Same result. Screen print GRUB ad infinitum.
Have been unable to locate an documentation relating to this problem.
And yes, my BIOS is configured to boot from correct drive.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Jason
