grub on raid1 partition

hi grub-devel,

i hope i disturb not the wrong.

when i install a new machine it often happens, that lilo get installed,
maybe cause i install on a software-raid md device.

mostly i setup ?da1 ?db1 as md1 (with 100mb), maybe for a rescue system
?da2 and ?db2 get md0 as /
?da3 and ?da3 as ms2 lvm device
?da4 and ?da4 as separated swap-devices's

when i run update-grup the first time it creates a new menu.lst, where
the gopt parameter get corrected fine with root=/dev/md0 ro
but the groot parameter stays at hd0,0. i suspect cause the md device.

is there a way to help update-grub arround this? so recocnize als the
md0 as from ?da2 and ?db2 as hd0,1?
