I would strongly suggest integrating
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-grub/2006-07/msg00037.html; it
makes Intel Mac support in GRUB significantly less painful by supporting
GPT partition tables directly. The patch is relatively small, looks sane
to me, and works on my Intel iMac. I've integrated it into the Ubuntu
grub package as of version 0.97-20ubuntu3, so you can grab it from there
if you don't want to have to deal with unmunging the HTML from the
lists.gnu.org archives.
