Hi,

It's not so simple.  Canvas resolution and color selection are intimately
tied to the chosen brackground.  For example, you don't want to use 640x480
with a bigger image, or black foreground text on a dark background image.

I agree the current solution is not ideal, but solving this requires more
careful thought.
