Robert just noted to me that you're problem still looks like some memory
corruption.
So the best would be if you would forward your problem to
grub-devel at gnu.org (You need to subscribe first)
I wonder why I didn't suggest you this already, I'm not that great GRUB
expert.
It's just the best to have the whole discussion upstream, there are more
people then just Robert and me.
