I had to apply the patch manually as it wouldn't apply to the source I
had previously downloaded.
The source I had used was:
grub2_1.96+20080724-8.diff.gz
grub2_1.96+20080724-8.dsc
grub2_1.96+20080724.orig.tar.gz
When I installed the patched version, I saw the following output:
