I don't think every uuid search takes 2s, there's a disk cache to prevent
that.  I suspect you got that impression because other costly activities
were intermangled with the search commands that print visible output.

Luckily, this is fixed now, AFAICT.  See #476479 and #477083.  If you can
confirm that it boots fast now, I'd like to close/merge this bug.
