Hi.

I also upgraded to grub2 and got the same problem.
As suggested in the reply to the first report I then also tried to
upgrade "grub-common" but it results in that the related packages
"grub-pc" and "grub2" now fail to install!  Here is the diagnostics
from aptitude:
