Urm yeah sorry that i misunderstood you.
That's really a good question how to deal with that.
But I doubt we could anything do on that case.
Either we use triggers and risk that it's not run by a powerloss,
or some apt/dpkg error elsewhere.
Or we just stay with the old method which is btw. not grub's fault,
but the kernel-team's which declare a postinst and postrm hook in
/etc/kernel-img.conf which get run on a kernel install or remove.
