3rd-attempt: grub fails running post install script updating kernel

Hi there,

trying to install the most current kernel
linux-image-2.6.25-2-486_2.6.25-6~snapshot.11680_i386.deb today
post install script fails.

Needed to downgrade to following grub packages to get this fixed:

    grub-common_1.96+20080601-1_i386.deb
    grub-rescue-pc_1.96+20080601-2_i386.deb

Both newer versions fail with grub commands  e.g. grub-probe,
grub-update, grub-install.
