I read now again bug #462449 and #462461
I totally forgot them sorry :)
Seems like it isn't fully fixed.
A few weeks ago i tried grub2 with whole / on ext4 with extents enabled,
neither grub-install nor update-grub did complained about it.
Just grub failed on reboot with file not found, but no wonder if extents
aren't still supported.
