Bug#542170: 10_linux: please implement alternative options

Package: grub-common
Version: 1.96+20090808-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

grub-legacy's update-grub allowed to create more than only one
"normal" and one "rescue" menu entry per kernel by virtue of the
altoptions setting in /boot/grub/menu.lst. This does not seem to be
possible with grub2.

This is important, for example for systems which are often booted via
the "real" console and then via the serial console.

Please fix this regression and implement grub-legacy's important
features in grub 2 as well.

Greetings
Marc
