Hi,

GRUB does what you want now (i.e. leaves the resolution and background image
untouched).  When it comes to resolution, this makes for seamless transition
(unless you explicitly asked Linux to change it).

HOWEVER, background image doesn't stay.  Something (I think Linux, but it could
be some userland part) clears the screen and prints stuff before you get to
see usplash.

Would be nice if this is fixed, but whatever it is can't be fixed in GRUB
(so this bug will be closed on next upload).
