It is already fixed in bzr.

But in this case it's actually good, see #555842
And before you complain about that, note that there's a reason why this
is called experimental and not unstable

 man dpkg

Honourly I really wonder why someone like you uses stuff from
experimental if he never had a look at dpkg's --help output or its man
page
