Just for the record, this entry
menuentry "Debian GNU/Linux, Linux 2.6.31.1-zgws1" {
        insmod vbe
        set gfxpayload=1400x1050x24
        linux   /vmlinuz-2.6.31.1-zgws1 root=/dev/mapper/root ro  resume=/dev/mapper/swap1 quiet splash hpet=force video=radeon:force_sleep,1400x1050-24 at 60
        initrd  /initrd.img-2.6.31.1-zgws1
}
works, and since the issue has not been solved in the package, I have
taken the liberty of editing the dpkg-conffile /etc/grub.d/10_linux to
hard-code the two extra lines.

Greetings
Marc
