Ok, reassigning now to dmsetup.
I don't know anything about udev, so I can't help with this.
But you're not the only one for whom an update of dmsetup and a reboot
didn't fix the problem.

The segfault was introduced in in beta2-1 and should be now fixed in
beta2-2 which should hit the mirrors now.
