Bug#542053: Additional info: rather grub problem than kernel

Following Felix Zielcke's advice to install grub2 from sid at first got me
stuck at the EDD check, after adding to /etc/default/grub :

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="edd=off"

and running update-grub2 the system now seems to be booting normally again.
Th machine in question boots from an IDE/pATA disk, maybe the latest decisions
in how to proceed with the IDE subsystem weren't too lucky.
