Bug#593347: Grub: no module name found

Package: grub-pc
Version: 1.98+20100710-1

OS version: Debian Squeeze (downloaded in August 13th 2010 and updated
yesterday.

I have got a dual boot laptop: Windows XP and Debian squeeze. Grub works fine
when I reboot the computer after having used it in Debian. However if I start
the computer in windows, AND I log into an account and later reboot the
computer grub stops working. It is as if Windows modifies some boot loader
register and grub can no longer boot.

I get the following message:

GRUB loading.
Welcome to GRUB!

no module name found
Aborted. Press any key to exit.

I press a key and I get:

Non-System disk or disk error
replace and strike any key when ready

To recover the system I have to use the Installation CD and reinstall GRUB in
the master boot record.

I am using Linux kernel: 2.6.32-5-686 #1 SMP.
