Hi,

I can confirm this bug in grub-common 1.98~20100128-1.

[bas at basbak2]~> sudo grub-probe --device /dev/sda2 --target=fs
grub-probe: error: unknown filesystem.

[bas at basbak2]~> mount|grep sda2
/dev/sda2 on /boot type ext3 (rw)
