Bug#564083: same problem on Asus M4A785TD-M

I have the same problem on an Asus M4A785TD-M EVO motherboard.
My workaround till now has been to

 grub rescue> insmod /boot/grub/normal.mod
 grub rescue> normal

but a non-sophisticated user would just be blocked by this.
