Bug#589243: update-grub failure on Debian testing with encrypted root

Package: grub-pc
Version: 1.98-1

After installing a fresh copy of Debian testing onto an encrypted root
partition, attempting to run update-grub results in following error:

/usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: cannot find a device for / (is /dev mounted?).

Dev is mounted from udev, and / is from /dev/mapper/hda3/crypt.

As a side note, the reason I'm trying to update grub is because even though
my windows partition was detected during the installation, it wasn't added
to the grub boot list, so I was trying to add it.
