On second thoughts, since testing has now migrated to libata, this will
just mean that large numbers of people on non-LVM systems will find that
GRUB tries to install to /dev/hda on upgrade and gets very confused when
it isn't there any more (i.e. essentially #554790 or #583271). Poo.
I think I'm caught between a rock and a hard place, and the only way out
is to slam GRUB into a state where it's using stable device names as
soon as humanly possible, rather than the more measured approach I'd
hoped to take of biting off sets of RC bugs in smaller chunks. If
anyone has better ideas, please let me know.
