it works fine in my (version 1.0) setup but it couldn't test it in all 
the the other possible configurations...

i think, robert was just asking for some confirmation an practical 
testing in the context of affected machines.

but you right -- we should use the given solution simply as one step 
forward to make grub-probe work again.
