Hi.

Indeed, I've patched grub version 1.99~rc1-5 and tested on
kfreebsd-amd64 (running 8.2 too).

Pkg information: This patch introduces a build-dep on geom headers
(libgeom-dev) Worked nicely for my using geom version 8.1-5.
