Hi.

update-grub should optionally copy the background image to /boot/grub, e.g. via some option
in /etc/default/grub.

I know this was once in place and removed later, but it's necessary for systems where during
grub running, that filesystem with the background image is not available.

This may e.g. include remotely mounted filesystems, or encrypted filesystems, where you
boot from an unencrypted medium.

I'd suggest that (if auto detection, whether the image will be available during grub running,
is not possible) the default should be as now, i.e. not copying the image but referencing it
directly.

Cheers,
Chris.
