Bug#688549: Grub-pc 2.00-5 fails install with no file name for grub-pc:amd64

I just hand-installed all the parts of grub 2.00-7 & then used Synaptic to
"install" it -- I had a error due to "E: Internal Error, No file name for
grub-pc:amd64". I then used apt-get install -f to try & get grub-pc to
install...It's error was:

sudo apt-get install -f
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 41 not upgraded.
1 not fully installed or removed.
After this operation, 0 B of additional disk space will be used.
Setting up grub-pc (2.00-7) ...
Installation finished. No error reported.
Generating grub.cfg ...
dpkg: error processing grub-pc (--configure):
 subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 grub-pc
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
