Package: grub-common
Version: 1.99-22.1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

GRUB does not seem to load keymaps other than the default. I tested an
encrypted lvm installation using testing i386 image, downloaded on 7 Sep
2012. I installed in expert mode with bootkbd=hu given at CD boot and during
installation I selected the hungarian keymap. When booted the freshly installed
system it didn't accept the password I gave, only when I typed it according to
the default keyboard layout (I guess it's US).
In /boot/grub/grub.cfg bootkbd=hu is present.
The same approach using Squeeze and Lenny produced hu keymap at boot.
I created hu.gkb and tried grub-mklayout -o hu.gkb, loaded modules at_keyboard
and keylayouts with no effect.

Thanks a lot for your time.

Kind Regards,

Viktor
