Bug#688549: Grub-pc 2.00-5 fails install with no file name for grub-pc:amd64

Package: grub-pc
Version: 2.00-5

Install error is: E: Internal Error, No file name for grub-pc:amd64
To duplicate install on a  64 bit system.
Expected result: correct install.

I am using a experimental-based system & this update came thru last
night (09-22-2012). Have reverted back to 1.99-22.1 until this has
been resolved.

Running current experimental kernel: $ uname -a
Linux linux 3.5-trunk-amd64 #1 SMP Mon Aug 20 04:17:46 UTC 2012 x86_64 GNU/Linux

As this problem would render the computer un-bootable, I would suggest this
report is Severity: Grave
