Bug#767282: jessie grub stops with 'grub_term_highlight_color' not found

Severity: critical

I made today (29-oct-2014) apt-get upgrade on jessie and after restart
the system goes into grub rescue mode. The system is 2 month old
and last restar was made 30 days ago.

error: symbol 'grub_term_highlight_color' not found
grub rescue>

System is i386, with software raid-1, on two SSDs.

all the files and directories of /
All data seems to be OK.

command "insmod linux" fails with the same error:
error: symbol 'grub_term_highlight_color' not found

Manual boot is also not possible.
