Bug#778914: grub2-common: Fedora kernels on dual boot machine sorted in wrong order
Russel Winder

Package: grub2-common
Version: 2.02~beta2-21
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
I have a dual boot situation with Debian Sid and Fedora Rawhide. I use Grub from Debian Sid even though the
kernel turnover in Rawhide is very high.
This all works fine, except for three things:
1. All Fedora kernels are listed as:
Fedora release 23 (Rawhide)
There is no identification of the kernel for the particular entry in the menu.
2. Fedora kernels are sorted in reverse order with the most recent at the end of the menu and the special
rescure kernel at the start of the list. This means that the short cut entry is not the latest kernel but
always the rescure kernel. This seems wrong.
3. Fedora kernels are sorted such that:
/boot/vmlinuz-3.20.0-0.rc0.git10.1.fc23.x86_64
comes before:
/boot/vmlinuz-3.20.0-0.rc0.git9.1.fc23.x86_64
which is the wrong order as git8 precedes git9.
