Bug#703228: Any reasons for not including this fix?

Hi,

Is there any reason for not including this fix in the current version
of grub-legacy?

I have tested this patch for both ext4 functionality and gpt
functionality and it works perfectly.

Even though these fixes are available in grub2, I think it is useful
and doesn't require much effort to roll into grub-legacy.

Can the maintainers please comment?
