Bug#841297: grub-efi: no symbol table, ask for key on boot

Package: grub-efi-amd64
Version: 2.02~beta3-5
Followup-For: Bug #841297
Since upgrading from Jessie to Stretch I am affected by this bug too.
A similar issue seems to be reported in the Ubuntu bug tracker here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1633839
There the suggested fix was to run 'grub-install' and 'update-grup' again,
which unfortunately did NOT fix the issue for me.
I wonder whether the issue could be related to my system only capable to boot a
32-bit EFI boot loader (i.e. no 64-bit EFI boot loader), even though the system
is running a 64 bit kernel.
How do I get rid of this extra delay when booting the system?
If you need more information, please let me know.
Cheers,
Micha
