Sure, but having the details behind a statement is often more useful for
understanding than just accepting a statement. :-D I often see users
(including me) coming to wrong conclusions because of misunderstanding
of the details. So having that details at hand allows to rethink their
implications.

I patched the GRUB sources from Debian and created new packages with
sbuild. The process is still not as I would have expected it from the
documentation, but it worked good enough to create the needed packages.
